There is medical evidence on the benefits of TMS for other mental health diagnoses in addition to Major Depressive Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Smoking Cessation.
We are expecting that the FDA will consider approving the use of TMS in the near future for other conditions such as:
- General Anxiety Disorder
- Bipolar Depression
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
The off-label use of these indications could be carefully considered on a case-by-case basis. If the psychiatrist and the patient determine, with the current medical evidence and the particular mental health diagnosis, that the potential benefits of the treatment outweigh the risk. The off-label use of TMS is not covered by health insurance at this time.
